The Alpilles and Camargue regional nature parks and the La Crau plain, with its magnificent landscapes and famous hilltop villages, are home to an abundance and variety of winter birdlife, including rare and heritage species such as Bonelli's Eagle, Blue Monticole and Great Horned Owl, the Tichodrome échelette, the Accenteur alpin, the Milan royal, the Grue cendrée, the Panure à moustache, the Talève sultane, the Ibis falcinelle, the Gull railleur, the Harle quail, the Outarde canepetière, the Pipit de Richard and a great diversity of ducks and limicoles come to spend the winter.
